As marketing continues to mature at warp speed to keep pace with new customer demands brought about by the rapid adoptions of smartphones and mobile devices, customer experience reigns supreme. The brands that lead with experience and place premiums on marketing to customers in personalized, engaging ways will be the most successful in today’s digital age.
To ensure marketers everywhere are ready to deliver the best customer experiences possible, we are excited to share that we’ve launched the Adobe Digital Marketing Accreditation, the first of its kind in the industry. Developed in partnership with General Assembly — a recognized leader in immersive virtual and digital learning — this worldwide program enhances technical capabilities with a foundational understanding of best practices that drive successful experience businesses.
The US Department of Labor’s 2016–2017 “Occupational Outlook Handbook” predicts there will be a 9 to 19 percent increase in key marketing roles between 2014 and 2024 — faster than the average growth among the occupations measured. However, a 2015 Smarter Insights study notes that 54 percent of respondent companies rated their marketing departments as “strong in some activities, but poor or weak in others.” This discrepancy points toward a glaring issue: companies need to receive knowledge and training on how to successfully implement and manage digital marketing within their organizations — training that goes beyond just showing companies how to put a program in place to also help them understand how to leverage the benefits once those programs are up and running.
Overcoming the Digital Skills Gap
The reality is that a digital skills gap exists in which marketers feel underequipped to keep up with the pace of digital innovations. As the marketing functions and roles continue to evolve and expand, it’s become increasingly costly to hire, train, and retain skilled marketing talent. Customers have told us firsthand that they want more help with developing the digital skills and capabilities within their teams to respond to the digital transformation happening in their industries and accelerate their results.
The Accreditation Experience
Adobe is well known for its existing product certifications that are rooted in a mastery of technical product knowledge, application, and experience. The Adobe Digital Marketing Accreditation program expands on product knowledge by providing a foundation of digital marketing best practices. The program isn’t limited to our customers; it’s open to any marketer worldwide seeking to enhance his or her digital capabilities.
The accreditation features six education programs led by a blend of voices — from industry experts to Adobe technology evangelists. Each program contains 3–4 courses, and each course comprises no more than 60 minutes of instruction on key digital-marketing topics. For example, the Know Your Customers program will teach participants how to find customer insights in all their interactions cross-channel as well as how to use analytics to make sense of the large amounts of data in digital commerce:
- Deliver Relevant Content
- Harmonize your Campaigns
- Know Your Customer
- Engage Customers with Mobile
- Deliver Continuous, Connected Experiences
Subscription pricing varies by region, and customized pricing is also available. A one-year subscription provides access to all program materials delivered via Adobe’s leading learning-management system, Captivate Prime. Customized enterprise pricing is also available. Content is on-demand, self-paced, and constantly refreshed. Each person who successfully completes the program earns an Adobe “Accredited Digital Marketer” designation as well as a badge that can be shared across their social media networks.
